A placeholder for a bookseller note. This is where Nora or one of the team will write a short, specific recommendation — not a summary, not a blurb, but a reason to read this particular book at this particular moment.
An independent bookshop at 14 Raeburn Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
Find usWe are not a large bookshop. We stock around 2,500 titles, which is not many — a Waterstones carries ten times that number, and Amazon carries everything. We are not trying to compete on range. We are trying to compete on judgment.
Every book on these shelves is here because someone on the team has read it and thinks it deserves to be read again, by someone else, possibly you. We do not stock books because they are bestsellers, though some of them are. We stock books because they are good.

A placeholder for a bookseller note. We rotate these roughly every four to six weeks. The books here are not necessarily new — they are the ones we are currently pressing into people's hands.
